Latin Trends End of the Summer Party!

The summer is officially gone! Sadly for me :( because now comes a season that I hated last year. I really hope this one gets better, despite all the predictions.

Anyways, if you can recall, among the fun activities I got to do this past summer was to work as a Public Relations assistant in the red carpet of the Latin Trends End of The Summer Party. I’m not going back to the details of what the party is about, since I already explained it on a previous post. Now, I’m just going to share the fun part.

It was a fun experience and also enriching for my career. It turned out to be less difficult than I expected, since I was a little concerned because I didn’t know all the guests that were meant to appear on the red carpet and my job was to check them in and lead them to the photographers in an organized way.

After the red carpet, our job was done and we got to enjoy the party! I felt so comfortable surrounded by Latin music, gosh I miss to go dancing!

Also got to meet some really cool people like Jessica Pimentel and Laura Gómez, who are now part of the cast of Orange Is TheNew Black. A week later I ran into Laura on New York Fashion Week and she was equally adorable.

Also met the Dominican model Angelica Guillen, so beautiful and humble. She got to be featured in Project Runway, and I bet we will be hearing more from her.

Actor E.J. Bonilla was also very fun. By the time he got to the party, the red carpet was at very crowed and he behaved with such gallantry, making fun out of the moment.

Of course there was also Gilberto Santa Rosa, and not for nothing he’s called “The Gentleman of Salsa”. He took the time to greet everyone around the red carpet personally, including Jatna and I to whom he shook hands. My mom would’ve died of the emotion!

The party was such a nice gathering to celebrate the success of many talented latinos who are becoming game changers in the United States, but also all around the world.

¡El verano oficialmente se fue! Tristemente para mí porque ahora se acerca una estación que odié el año pasado. Espero que este sea mejor, a pesar de todos los pronósticos.

Si recuerdan, entre las cosas divertidas que pude hacer este pasado verano fue trabajar como asistente de Relaciones Públicas en la alfombra roja de la fiesta Latin Trends End of The Summer Party. No les volveré a contar los detalles de qué se trata la fiesta, porque ya lo hice en un post previo. Ahora, sólo quiero compartir con ustedes la parte divertida.

Fue una experiencia muy divertida y al mismo tiempo enriquecedora para mi carrera. Resultó ser menos difícil de lo que esperaba, ya que me preocupaba un poco no conocer los nombres de la mayoría de los invitados a aparecer en la alfombra roja y mi trabajo era guiarlos hacia los fotógrafos de una manera organizada.

Luego de la alfombra, nuestro trabajo había terminado y ¡pudimos disfrutar de la fiesta! Me sentí tan cómoda rodeada de música latina, ¡Dios extraño tanto salir a bailar!

Además tuve la oportunidad de conocer gente muy chula, como las actrices Jessica Pimentel y Laura Gómez, que ahora son parte del elenco de la serie Orange is the New Black. Una semana después, me encontré a Laura en la Semana de la Moda de NY y fue igualmente adorable.

También conocí a la modelo dominicana Angélica Guillén, bellísima y humilde. Ha sido modelo para el programa Project Runway y estoy segura que estaremos escuchando más de ella.

El actor E.J. Bonilla fue muy divertido. Cuando llegó a la fiesta, la alfombra roja estaba súper llena de personas esperando y él se portó muy galante, haciendo bromas sobre la situación.

Por supuesto, no puedo dejar de mencionar a Gilberto Santa Rosa, quien no en vano es llamado “El Caballero de la Salsa”. Se tomó el tiempo para saludar personalmente a todos los que estaban a su alrededor en la alfombra, incluyendo a Jatna y a mí, a quienes dio la mano. ¡Mi mamá se hubiera muerto de la emoción!

La fiesta fue una muy linda reunión para celebrar el éxito de muchos latinos talentosos que se han convertido en una gran influencia en los Estados Unidos, pero también alrededor del mundo. La revista LatinTRENDS.com también está contribuyendo a este fin.
