Food discoveries!!

It’s not a secret that I looooooveeeee eating. I enjoy going to new places and trying new stuff, even now that I’m leaving the student kinda broke life and can’t afford to do so as I used to back home.  

That been said, I’m still trying to do it, spacing the time between one new discovery and another. The latest’s: The Stand and Ayama Japanese.

I went to The Stand Restaurant and Comedy Club to meet one of my cousins. The place is in the city, pretty cool ambience and have the funniest waiter ever #BrunchwithGraham (He's got his own hashtag!).

It was interesting to me that the place presents comedy shows regularly in its lower level. I know, I know! Comedy clubs are common in NY, but I’ve never been in one before. So if you like this kind of things, this is your place.

Food is good too, they have a pretty diverse menu and brunch on Sundays. Prices are a bit above my limited budget, but my friends got a good discount offer with Urban Daddy Perks.

Then, is Ayama Japanese Fusion Cuisine which was deliciousssss!!! It was a great suggestion from my friend Peter.

We had three rolls for us too, and they were all equally perfect. The flavors were so fresh, mouthwatering; exquisite. I chose the Sex on the Beach Roll, with shrimp tempura, spicy tuna inside, white tuna avocado on the top and chef special sauce. Peter selected the Lava Roll, with Shrimp tempura and spicy salmon topped with salmon and spicy lava sauce. It’s a bit spicy but not that much, even I could handle it. 

But my favorite was the Crazy Tuna Roll, with spicy crunch tuna inside black pepper tuna, avocado on the top with chef special sauce. The combination of the black pepper and the tuna was just the perfect amount of flavor. And the textureeeee, oooohhhh yeeeeeeezzz!!!

No es un secreto que me encantaaaaaaaaaaa comer. Disfruto ir a nuevos lugares y probar cosas nuevas, incluso ahora que estoy viviendo la vida de estudiante en olla y no puedo hacerlo tan a menudo como cuando estaba en República Dominicana.

Dicho eso, aún intento hacerlo aunque espaciando el tiempo entre cada nuevo descubrimiento. Los más recientes: The Stand y Ayama Japanese.

Fui a The StandRestaurant and Comedy Club para reunirme con una de mis primas. El lugar está en la ciudad, con buen ambiente y el mesero más divertido #BrunchwithGraham (¡Sí, tiene su propio hashtag).

Me pareció interesante que el lugar presenta comediantes regularmente en el primer piso. ¡Lo sé, lo sé! Los clubs de comedia son muy comunes en NY, pero nunca había estado en uno antes. Así que si te gusta este tipo de entretenimiento, este es tu lugar.

La comida también es buena, tienen un menú bastante diverso y brunchs los domingos. Los precios están un poco por encima de mi limitado presupuesto, pero mis amigas consiguieron un buen descuento en el site de Urban Daddy.

Luego está Ayama Japanese Fusion Cuisine, deliciosooooooooo!!!

Fue una gran sugerencia de mi amigo Peter. Pedimos tres rollos para los dos, y todos estaban igualmente perfectos. Los sabores tan frescos, te hacen agua la boca; exquisito. Elegí el Sex and the Beach Roll, con camarón tempura, spicy tuna, tuna blanca y aguacate por encima y salsa especial del chef. Peter seleccionó el Lava Roll, con camarón tempura, salmón picante y salmón y salsa picante de “lava” por encima. Estaba un poco picante obviamente, pero no muchísimo, hasta yo lo pude aguantar.

Pero mi favorito fue el Crazy Tuna Roll, con tuna picante y crujiente por dentro, pimienta negra, aguacate por encima y la salsa especial del chef. La combinación de la tuna y la pimienta negra fue la perfecta cantidad de sabor. Y la texturaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa, ohhhhhhhhhh diossssssss!!!

La presentación del plato fue muy bonita, ¡y la cuenta no estuvo mal!
